Our Logo Design Process
Design is a strategy made visible.
Our first step is mainly focused around getting as much information as we can from our client. This process can be done through a face to face meeting, over the phone or via email through our questionnaire that we send over.
Some of the information that you can look forward to being asked for are:
- What does the company do?
- Who is the target market?
- Who are the competitors?
- What differentiates the company from its competitors?
- Where will the logo be used?
In our next step we spend a good amount of our time researching the clients industry, and study the historical/future perspective of the client within the industry. We then move our research along to the client’s competitors and target market – knowing the clients audience is a vital step that should not be missed.
We all know what comes next – Sketch, sketch, sketch… and more sketching. This is where we conceptualize our ideas on paper. Sketching makes it easier for us to layout and process our ideas.
Once we have our concepts in place we start with the design of the logo. We use Adobe Illustrator to design our ideas from pen and paper to digital and print.
After the logo has been fully designed our team will then design a mockup of the logo onto various mediums (eg stationery, vehicle, signage etc) to show the client how the logo will look and work in reality.
Once we are content and confident with the design process, a presentation meeting is setup with the client which is done either face to face or via Skype/Phone Call.
After the logo design has been completed and the client is happy with the final product, we can then start working on the corporate identity and any other marketing or communications materials.
The final logo is then packaged for delivery to the client which includes a high resolution CMYK jpeg, web-ready RGB and a vector file to fulfill all logo usage requirements needed.
